All In with Google

2024

Web Design & Art Direction for Google's All-In Marketing initiative. We helped with the revitalization of the All-In branding and homepage experience. Collaborating closely with Google Brand Studio and their in-house development team, we navigated challenges posed by an outdated codebase to deliver a visually engaging and innovative design. The final product not only refreshed the Google web marketing brand but also introduced a playful, forward-thinking aesthetic.

Youtube Brand Refresh

Bible Camp Film Chapters

2024

Film Typography for the short film Bible Camp, a short film about young Korean immigrants who assimilate to American traditions while attending a discount daycare in the Harlem Valley. Each chapter was a line from the Lords Prayer, so I searched for the oldest non-blackletter print and recreated the layout to superimpose on top of the film. The layout was then dictated by where the type showed up in the verse.

YUMI

2023

Worked with a tight team to help revamp Yumi's brand. We updated the color and employed unconventional, playful typography to communicate energy and optimism to a wider audience. In support of the more lively brand, we also reinvented the playful YUMI “letter jumble” with careful consideration for bold color combinations paired with high emotion, family-centric photography.

About.google

2018—2019

Web Designer on a covert team within Google Brand Studio, tasked with redesigning and developing new guidelines for their editorial platform and marketing web standards. At the time, Google Marketing faced limitations in publishing content, relying heavily on external developers. Our team aimed to address this issue by creating a unified marketing web presence that empowered internal teams to produce unique content efficiently.

Endless Coffee Co.

2018—2020

In 2018 I started my own coffee roasting company as a hobby. In Oakland there is a collaborative roasting facility and I fell in love with the process and the people I met there, so I decided to just start making small batches of coffee for my friends and family. I also just wanted an excuse to do some packaging.

Disconnection; A Neutral Gear, A Semi-Solid

2017

Thesis publication exploring what it means to choose to disconnect from a digital presence in today’s post-digital environment. I explore the relationships between our technologies and their effects on us as humans. Questioning whether the possibility of experiencing a sense of connection or transcendence is directly correlated with disconnecting from an online presence.
